50Stater Marathon/Ultra Series (VA): Thomas Jefferson 100K

A while back, in a moment of insanity, I clicked the mouse and signed my life away. Sadly, cancellations are not allowed. So, I will take my punishment and just run whatever I can. I'm still trying to recover from my last race, blisters and all. So, anybody interested to join me and see me suffer - that would be great! Anybody interested to crew or pace me on the last 2 loops (free but you will be running around 10pm-11pm), I promise not to whine!

Race Details:
Distance: 100K (or 62.3 miles)
Saturday, March 15, 2014
5am-11pm (18hrs cutoff)

Race Location:
Walnut Creek Park
4250 Walnut Creek Park Road
North Garden, VA 22959

Please message me if interested.

Planned Itinerary:

Friday, Drive 5 hrs from NJ to Charlottesville, VA, packet picket, pre-race briefing, pasta dinner, stay at hotel

Saturday, Race Day!!! Hoping somebody will drive me back to the hotel after the race.

Sunday, Drive back to NJ, definitely will take longer than the 5 hrs. I'd be lucky if I can still drive. So, lots of stops to rest and stretch the legs.

For the TJ100K ultra last weekend in VA, I only did 4 loops out of the 7 covering 35.8 miles in 15 hrs 46 mins (or 57.6K out of 100K). No medal for the effort as I did not finish (DNF) this race. Learned a lot like 'do not get lost!' and 'do not leave the IT band brace at home!' Overall, a great race run by an exceptional Race Director Andy with excellent support volunteers and aid stations. The route itself has lots of hills, short steep downhills that wrecked my knees, and some really runnable sections. It reminds me of the Old Loggers Path / Trail in PA.
