Located on Hwy 49 between Auburn and Placerville, this is one of the most picturesque historic parks in California. If you'd like to simply sit and socialize with other heathens, this is it. If you'd like to walk the many trails and spend an afternoon in exploration, this is it. If you'd like a chance to discuss the lore, history, practices and philosophy behind our Folkway, this is it.
Knute suggests that we meet at the picnic area up by the Marshall monument as it's more secluded.
Steve McNallen will be with us, so we'll do a simple "Greeting to the Gods" and follow with a sumbel if folks are interested. A donation of mead for the sumbel would be appreciated.
Important: BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH. To keep this event very simple, we're requesting that everyone take care of their own food and beverage needs. (We usually have extras to share.)
This is a family friendly event.
Open the link for the park brochure which also has a PDFs of a map that shows the Monument Picnic Area. Please RSVP so we'll be ready to welcome you!!
Please note that this is an outdoor event and maneuvering around the site could be difficult for anyone who has ambulatory issues.
