Like last year's meeting at this time, this month's meeting will be a highly-informal gathering over food and beverages at The Olympic Tavern, a Rockford, IL long-time-open business.
Because of the way the calendar is arranged, our normal December meeting would otherwise be schedlued for Christmas Eve - we realize that you're a Coder of some sort, but we suspect that many of you might be with family/friends/traveling/Santa/etc. that night, therefore we thought it would be best to schedule the usual December get-together in November this year--right before some of you decide to plan or leave for Thanksgiving!
Like last year and the year before, meeting highlights include an extensive list of available craft beers and non-alcoholic beverages, plus miscellaneous types of available food options (available for most tastes and appetites: healthy, vegetarian, carnivore, "tavern-style," "gourmet-ish," etc. via appetizer-to-full-meal-sized servings). All ages are welcome to attend this meeting, but you will need to be 21 years of age (and/or older than 21) if you choose to buy/consume any alcoholic beverages while here.
Additionally, the spirited conversations about various projects we all seem to do and/or follow, miscellaneous software, "the industry," and so on (as one would expect to happen when a bunch of software coders get together over misc. food and beverages) are expected to reoccur. As some of you know, getting a bunch of programmers together can lead to many great ideas, discussions, and future plans, therefore we feel this is just as important of a meeting as the ones we normally hold in the PV classroom each month.
For the convenience of the group organizers (and the venue), we prefer that you RSVP for this specific event so we can have a basic headcount before we get there - most restaurants seem to like having this sort of thing for some reason, so...
As with our other monthly events, come as you are, and be sure to tell your friends and coworkers good things about us. Hope to see you there!!
