What we're about

Let's do it outdoors! A meetup for the active & adventurous...
The Northern Rivers area has a diversity of beautiful wild landscapes and a undeveloped coastline that is the envy of our neighbours to the north. What better way to appreciate it all than to get together outdoors and exercise.
Hiking; trail-running; beach running; wilderness camping; ultralight hiking; road cycling; mountain-biking; kayaking ... and more (like rock-hopping). Whatever you can think of really!

oh yeah, and when we're near civilization, hopefully we can grab a coffee or turmeric latte afterwards :)

Oh one more thing, if you join and then get sick of all the notification emails, you can always reduce or unsubscribe them in your settings; you don't have to leave the group !

Explore Dirawong for the Winter Solstice

Anson Avenue

Explore Dirawong Reserve, the beautiful headlands of Evans south of the river. This walk will be based on how much or little we'd like to do - we can choose from a network of trails and make a nice sun-drenched day of it. Some people may even wish to swim?? If anyone likes we can grab some lunch and a chai in Evans afterwards. Dirawong is a magical place of natural beauty, comprising of approx. 300 hectares of sanctuary. A dominant feature is the Goanna Headland on the northern boundary. In the mythology of the Bundjalung Nation, the Dirawong is an unseen spiritual creature also known as the goanna spirit. Please note, for communication on the day, text is preferable as the meetup app doesnt work properly on my phone - thanks. REQUIRED: Sturdy shoes; sun protection; water; snacks. Please assess whether this event is suitable for you in regards to your level of fitness. Please be aware that personal safety is the responsibility of each individual member and that I, as the event organiser, do not take responsibility for group safety. Please note the charge of $2 per person will be collected to fund this meetup group.

Trail-run Mt Nardi-Protestors Falls
Needs a date and time

Needs a location

Some of the most intact and lush rainforest in Nightcap NP exists around the peak of Mt Nardi, the towering mountain overlooking Nimbin and surrounds. Run down the Historic Nightcap Track before veering downhill towards Tuntable Falls. This track continues to the end of Wallace Rd where we turn down Nicholson's trail and arrive at Terania Creek Road and Protester's Falls. Stumble back to The Channon Pub for a countery if you wish...
