NVCT and the staff at Dora Kelley Nature Center are co-hosting another volunteer training on November 29th, at 7:30 pm. There will be a presentation by the organizations involved with this event on different invasive plants, their id, and how to best remove/manage them. The presentation will be a bit different and focus on winter invasive removal and winter safety in the park. This presentation should last about an hour or so. There will be time afterwards for questions, snacking, and networking. We are hoping these trainings will encourage more volunteers to come out and join us for the first Saturday events.
The goal is to help volunteers learn how to better id native and invasive plants, and understand the different invasive plant management techniques. Food and beverages will be provided; and all participants will receive relevant training materials.
The event will take place at Dora Kelley - where the first Saturday events take place. All volunteers should meet inside the nature center. Staff will be on hand to direct you to where the training session will be held.
Registration will be free and it is open to the public! If you can't make this one, we are planning on holding these 4 times a year. We hope you'll be able to join us.
