Meditation Practice & Support @ Inner Balance

All teachers agree: The key to a successful meditation practice is regular practice. Therefore this meetup is looking for practitioners who are willing to make a dedicated effort to sit together weekly in order to fully realize the benefits of group practice. All levels and schools of thought are welcome. Meet like minded individuals while expanding your own personal practice in a non-competitive and supportive environment. Feel free to join us for a sitting and experience increased self awareness and inner peace by way of your journey inward.

TIME: Our meeting time will be 7:00pm so please arrive as close to 7:00pm as possible. We will begin our meditation promptly at 7:15pm. This meetup should end by approximately 9:30pm.

LOCATION: Inner Balance is located at the intersection of Pfingsten & Maria (northwest corner). That's between Dundee & Lake Cook across from Underwriters Laboratories. Parking is available in the lot west of the office park. Proceed up the center pathway until reaching Suite 107. If you think that you might need some additional help finding us, please feel free to contact me prior to the closing of RSVP's & I will be happy to provide you with my cell #.

FORMAT: We will begin with a short centering exercise, followed by introductions, some brief instruction and several basic yoga stretches before beginning our formal practice which is described as follows: We will sit in silence for two fifteen minute sessions focusing on our breath as the meditation object. There will be a short break between sessions for new practitioners to pause and readjust themselves if need be. More experienced meditators may practice all the way through both sessions without pausing if they so choose. When we finish there will be a shared reading or an audio presentation, time for questions, reflection and mingling for those who would like to participate.

FYI: Chairs will be available for those who prefer to use them. For those who choose to sit on the floor, blankets, cushions & floorchairs are also available but feel free to bring your own, meditation bench, pillow, yoga mat or zafu cushion if you prefer.

COST: A voluntary donation of $1.00 to help offset expenses would be most appreciated but is by no means expected.

If you have any questions about this particular sitting or our meditation community in general, please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to sitting in practice and sharing energy in the present moment with all who choose to attend. Namaste, Mark Z

It really made a difference, after not being there for several weeks. I found
the meditation to be relaxing, people's energy great and loved picking the cards at the end. It opened my mind to different ways of thinking...Thank you, Mark and to the mediators in the group. What is the name of the book
you mentioned, Mitch that I can start reading?

Always appreciate the support that I receive from this circle. My practice would surely be far more difficult without it. Welcome Cris! Thanks for making the choice to sit with us and for sharing your insights too. I hope you found your experience to be a beneficial one and that you will join us again soon. Thanks Mitch for suggesting and implementing the use of the Zen cards, really enjoyed the discussion which ensued. Grateful to all for their presence and participation. With a bow & a hug!

So sorry for the last minute change! Biking all day and just now back in Evanston... a tad too late to make it to Northbrook. I'll be sitting here "in spirit" with you.

When you're focused on how good the good is the good gets better. It's like peanut butter and chocolate - both are good and recee's peanut butter cups are even better. Dali Lama/Mitch B.
