Meditation Practice & Support @ Inner Balance

All teachers agree: The key to a successful meditation practice is regular practice. Therefore this meetup is looking for practitioners who are willing to make a dedicated effort to sit together weekly in order to fully realize the benefits of group practice. All levels and schools of thought are welcome. Meet like minded individuals while expanding your own personal practice in a non-competitive and supportive environment. Feel free to join us for a sitting and experience increased self awareness and inner peace by way of your journey inward.

TIME: Our meeting time will be 7:00pm so please arrive as close to 7:00pm as possible. We will begin our meditation promptly at 7:15pm. This meetup should end by approximately 9:30pm.

LOCATION: Inner Balance is located at the intersection of Pfingsten & Maria (northwest corner). That's between Dundee & Lake Cook across from Underwriters Laboratories. Parking is available in the lot west of the office park. Proceed up the center pathway until reaching Suite 107. If you think that you might need some additional help finding us, please feel free to contact me prior to the closing of RSVP's & I will be happy to provide you with my cell #.

FORMAT: We will begin with a short centering exercise, followed by introductions, some brief instruction and several basic yoga stretches before beginning our formal practice which is described as follows: We will sit in silence for two fifteen minute sessions focusing on our breath as the meditation object. There will be a short break between sessions for new practitioners to pause and readjust themselves if need be. More experienced meditators may practice all the way through both sessions without pausing if they so choose. When we finish there will be a shared reading or an audio presentation, time for questions, reflection and mingling for those who would like to participate.

FYI: Chairs will be available for those who prefer to use them. For those who choose to sit on the floor, blankets, cushions & floorchairs are also available but feel free to bring your own, meditation bench, pillow, yoga mat or zafu cushion if you prefer.

COST: A voluntary donation of $1.00 to help offset expenses would be most appreciated but is by no means expected.

If you have any questions about this particular sitting or our meditation community in general, please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to sitting in practice and sharing energy in the present moment with all who choose to attend. Namaste, Mark Z

This is a practice of coming back to ourselves and that is an ongoing, lifelong endeavor. Welcome back to practice Art, Bart, Dan & Roxie! We are truly honored that you chose to reconnect with your practice in our humble circle. I hope that you all find the support you receive here to be beneficial, for that is always our intention. Welcome Anna! So glad you decided to give us a try. Welcome Erfan! Thanks for sharing the experiences from your practice with us. I hope you both enjoyed your evening and that we'll see you both again soon. Really enjoyed last night's reading & the exchange that followed. Thanks to all for sharing your wonderful energy & insights. With a bow & a hug!

Thanks so much Mark! You and the group members truly made me feel welcome. Your group reminds me of the ones I sat with in the past, and couldn't be more pleased to find a group so suitable to the nature of my practice and study. Blessings and hope to be back next week.

    Inner Peace
If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones
are too busy to give you any time,

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment ,

If you can conquer tension without medical help,

If you can relax without alcohol, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, Then You Are Probably The Family Dog! And you thought I was going to get all spiritual... Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Pee on it and walk away.
