Welcome to the Norwich Social Anxiety and Mental Health Group. This group was original setup by a volunteer called Kelly who did a fantastic job growing the membership and organising group meetups. Sadly she decided to step down from the group after some conflict involving another member of the group. KindaKafe, Norwich (part of the Missing Kind charity) has temporarily taken on the role of organiser to prevent this group from being closed down by Meetup.
We are keen to support the group to continue and can offer free meeting space at our lovely community cafe on Castle Meadow, Norwich. Kelly hosted several groups here that were very popular. We'd like to get these going again and are looking for members to host the groups. If interested please email email@example.com
The original idea behind this group was for members to meet and support each other through positive activities and social interaction. Previously the following groups have met:
• Positive activities and chat social - puzzles, board games and calming colouring
• Cuppa chat and colour
• Outdoor fun exercise
• Monthly games afternoon
These are the current group rules. We will be reviewing these with members soon to make sure they're still appropriate.
Always keep yourself safe- do not give out your address, e mail or phone number to other members until a firm and trustworthy friendship has been established.
This is not a dating site, if you meet the love of your life at a group then that is of course amazing . However, sexual innuendo, harassment towards other members etc will result in being banned from groups and other meetup organisers will be warned not to accept you.
No discussion of politics or spirituality is allowed - this includes brexit, reiki, dark magic, mediumship, chrystal balls, tarot cards etc.
You must be sensitive to other peoples beliefs.
What's said in the room stays in the room (positive activities and chat social)
Always ask permission before taking photographs and please no posting on social media.
No isms- racism etc or any offensive language.
No negativity towards other members unless they are in breach of a rule then please calmly and politely tell them.
Must change your rsvp if you can no longer attend an event. Of course we understand if you are not feeling well on the day, it is of course a mental health group! Please just be polite and change your rsvp to not coming so that we are not waiting around for you.
No young children or dogs at any event (except guide dogs)
