I wanted to make a group for families with young children living near the 285 corridor in town and the near foothills. I'm hoping to organize some playdates, daytime activities that are mostly free or close to it, share info about family events in the area, and eventually try some type of community service once the littles are big enough.
On a more personal level: Hi there! Do you feel like you don't fit the stereotype having children has thrown you into? Me either. I have never gone to yoga, despise Target (and spending carelessly and joking about it), and only really like wine with a good steak. Vodka or a bowl on the other hand... I clearly have my weaknesses. But what I can't stand more than anything is cliques and exclusivity. As a group, I want us to be the big pool of fish where true friendships are made. I want a support system that will yell at my children when I miss the bad behavior and show up to playdates at my house in sweats and not mention the dried up cheerios on the carpet. I want conversations that don't revolve around the many horrors and highlights of raising little people. More importantly, I want parents who can call each other in their darkest hour while hiding in the bathroom from the 3 year old. There will be tears. There will be cursing. There will not be judgement.
