Dot Tudor (International conference speaker, published author, Certified Scrum Trainer, winner of 'Best Agile Coach/Mentor' at the UK Agile Awards, a finalist in the 'Most Valuable Agile Player UK' five years running and winner of the Award for Outstanding Contribution to a DSDM Team), John Taylor (Program Management professional of 20 years+ experience, a graduate of the Defence Systems Management College and previously a technical career in the United States Air Force) and Chris Davies (award winning program management in transport, financial services, banking, insurance, government, commercial FTSE-250 corporate sectors – Co-Founder of Condor) will be presenting: What is “Skunk Works?” Skunk Works originates from World War II when a special R&D centre was set up by Kelly Johnson at Lockheed. Since the inception of the Skunk Works, this term has been generalised to apply to similar high-priority R&D projects at other organisations, which feature a small team removed from the normal working environment and given freedom from management constraints.     What we're about

    We are the Nottingham and Derby branch of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. We meet monthly to participate in a programme of inspiring talks from highly appreciated figures within the national and international IT industry.

    Most events are free of charge, and open to BCS members and non-members alike. Our events provide a fantastic motivational forum for IT and computing professionals, academics, and students in the Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln region of the East Midlands. We discuss topics relating to and affecting the IT industry.

    Our members are friendly and enthusiastic, representing a wide range of roles in the local IT community. They enjoy the social and informative environment, which supports their general interests and career aspirations. Our events contribute towards your Continuing Professional Development.
