Time for a chat about the group's direction...

Ciao tutti!

A couple of years ago, we had a get-together - upstairs in the Navigation pub near Castle Boulevard - of about 20 of us to discuss the group, its activities and ideas about who might wish to take the lead in different areas of interest. That all seemed to work well at different times, but with various new members joining since then - and a few leaving - I thought it might be a good time to have another chat about how we can take the group forward, and generally share thoughts.

One important thing we'll need to discuss is the revival of an annual membership fee (previously £5), which hasn't been chased-up over the last year or so, as members have come and gone. Edd Sellman - the founder of the Italian Conversation Meet-Up Group has always paid for the annual upkeep of our site, which I believe is around £150 or so. It only seems fair that we all contribute a small sum to maintain it. Any thoughts would be welcome.

So, if I get enough positive feedback on the idea of having a general meeting-style meet-up, I'll go ahead and sort out a date (those who can't make it would still be kept informed through the site). In terms of a venue, I'm open to suggestions. If we're stuck, as I work for Nottingham Hospitals' Radio, I might be able to get us access to the QMC canteen one weekday evening - after it closes to the public.

In ogni modo, apprezzerei i vostri pensieri e suggerimenti. AVANTI!

PS. Don't forget there's a pub meet-up tomorrow night.
