What we're about

We now have over 100 members! Thank you to everyone who has shown interest or attended! どうもありがとう).

This group is a language exchange and social group for those who have a genuine interest in Japanese language and culture. Likewise we'll cater for Japanese people in Nottingham who want to speak in their native language or want to practice English and make friends.

Given the monthly frequency of the group, this Meetup is intended to be supplementary to your Japanese learning elsewhere. I recommend that you're learning/practicing through self study or already part of a Japanese course. Our events aren't formal lessons.

We currently meet once per month, on the 2nd Thursday of each month at The Roundhouse.

Please keep an eye out on the group wall for an announcement about when the events will become more frequent.

Fluent/native Japanese speakers are welcome because my knowledge of Japanese is basic.

Learn and Practice Japanese

The Roundhouse

We now have over 100 members! • What we'll do Whether you're like me and know a handful of Japanese phrases or completely fluent, we'd love for you to join us. Let's help one another learn and practice Japanese! :) The idea is that we'll meet in a quiet bar and have a chat. It's not going to be a classroom like environment. I'm starting this off as a monthly meet up with the possibility of ramping it up to 2 weekly depending on how popular it becomes and if there's a demand for it to be more often. I'm looking forward to meeting you all. • What to bring Pen and paper, or some other kind of note taking device. Japanese dictionary if you have one. • Important to know Given the monthly frequency of the group, this Meetup is intended to be supplementary to your Japanese learning elsewhere.
