Derby People's Kitchen

Fingers crossed this will be our spring time spesh and we're having a clothes swap, so bring down any unwanted clothes and see if anything takes your fancy and get a new outfit for the summer :D

People are welcome to come and chip in with the food prep or socialise from 6pm, food is aimed to be served at 7pm.

All food is vegan and suggested donation is £2 plate.

People’s Kitchen is:

* A chance for a community to get together and socialise
* A cheap, inclusive, ethical and healthy meal

We do it:

- To provide an outlet for food that is sustainable, healthy and local, affordable and inclusive
- To provide an opportunity for people and organisations in our town to socialise together
- To create an event that is about shared responsibility & mutual aid
- Because we wanted to make an immediate difference in our community in a way that didn’t involve lots of meetings and committees

We serve exclusively vegan food because:

- it’s ethical
- it’s cheap
- it’s environmentally more sustainable
- in terms of food hygiene it’s easier and simpler to prepare
- it’s accessible to the most people in terms of dietary, cultural and religious requirements

For those who are new to the Derby People's Kitchen, it's a fluid group of regulars, occasionals and newbies. Everyone is very friendly and we just tend to mingle and sit around one big table and chat. Anyone who is completely new, feel free to hunt me out and introduce yourself or I won't necessarily know who you are...I shall probably be there from around 6.30pm.
