Beginner Game Design & Programming with Unity

Abstract: Learn all about game design and game programming with the Unity engine! Ever dreamed about making a video game? With Unity, you can make any game that you can imagine. Many high-profile games ( in recent years have been written in Unity, including Hearthstone, Pillars of Eternity, Kerbal Space Program, and Ori and the Blind Forest!

We'll create a 2D game from start to finish, using Unity 3D engine. The end game will work across desktop, web, and mobile. Artwork will be provided so you can jump right in.

What will you learn:
* Working with sprites and animation
* Managing player state
* Creating and Managing objects on the fly
* Adding obstacles and collisions, working with Unity's physics system
* Building game logic
* Basic scripting

What to Bring:
* PC/Mac Laptop with the following the latest Unity 3D ( ) installed. It is also recommended to install Visual Studio 2013 Community and Visual Studio tools for Unity.

* There are no specific prerequisites for this class. Any previous experience with programming will be helpful for the scripting portions of the class. See for additional info/tutorials on Unity scripting.

Where do I park? / How do I get inside?

Parking: There is free street parking on N Ontario St. It is usually easy to find a spot after business hours or on weekends.

Getting inside: Once you park, head down the walkway, we are the long building in the back (see link for overhead directions)
