We changed how we publish events

In the past, our meetup.com settings of our group allowed events automatically to be posted to the main calendar and announced to the group, when there were at least three RSVPs. Recently, we changed this behavior in order to gain more control over the content on our page and the announcements.

We had to do this change, because an event has been posted with wording/content which does misrepresent our group. Unfortunately, this event has been added to the calendar and announced to the group members, automatically. This automatic posting was triggered by RSVPs of brand new members, which signed up at the day of the posting. It is questionable, if these new members are actually interested in actively taking part of the groups activities. Some may even wonder if they are real people or fake acocunts.

From now on, we only post third party events, if they are of significant importance to our group members or if long standing and frequently attending group members and/or speakers are involved.

We want to support our members, but we can not post every event, which is out there!
