The Parade takes place in down-town San Juan Capistrano. This is the nation's largest non-motorized parade. It is totally organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association. Arrive early; most street closures are by 10.00 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 11 am.
The Mercado is a Street Fair and Market Place where you can eat, drink, and shop at over 100 booths. It is THE place to be after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of The Working Cowboy Band, a traditional band.
Our Organizer of the OC Good Life Jim Taylor is one of the announcers again this year for the Swallows Day Parade and his station is out in front of L'Hirondelle Restaurant, across from the Mission Basilica School. Pretty close to where the shuttle drops people off. http://www.swallowsparade.com/pdf/2014/shuttleflyer.pdf If you want I can be the event host, I am easy to find :-) assuming they want to sit in my section. I am there by 8:00 Call or text Jim on his cell phone 949 510-6531 or email at jim@LaughOC.com He will be there only for the parade, but afterwards people as a group can move downtown for the Mercado.
