We are excited to announce that this meet-up will have presentations from participants of our upcoming hackathon and a Round-table discussion.

We are hosting our first hackathon event very soon, and will be inviting participating members to present their work.

We will also have have a Round Table panel discussion about using R for working with Big Data. This should be an interesting and interactive way to learn more about Data Science.

== Round Table ==
We have sent out a survey to ask you what topics you would like to hear at the round table. We used rank choice voting (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranked_voting) and the topic will be "Using R in big data (Spark, databases, EMR, Hadoop, H2O.ai)"

We are in the process of finding panellists. If you have experience in this area, please reach out to the organizers.

1) Ryan Garner
Ryan Garner is a Data Scientist with AWS Professional Services. He is passionate about helping AWS customers use R to solve their Data Science and Machine Learning problems.

2) Peyman Mohajerian
Peyman Mahojerian is the Regional Leader and Resident Solutions Architect at Databricks. His professional experience is around data engineering, data science and cloud.
