A very exciting private tea and tour at the Historic Rancho Los Alamitos in Long Beach. We will meet at 10:45am at the Visitor Center and start with a guided tour of the Historic Ranch House going back to the 1800's. Originally a little Adobe ranch house for the Vaqueros, it was remodeled and enlarged extensively by the Bixby Family. The family put the house in a trust and donated it to the City of Long Beach and most all of the original furnishings, artwork, and decorations are intact. Once a 300,000 acre parcel land grant owned by an officer who traveled here under Portola, it has changed hands and size over the years.
Following our tour we will have our tea in the side garden under the shaded canopy.
Our Traditional English Spring Tea will feature the following tea sandwiches:
Black Forest Ham with Honey Mustard
Roast Beef with Creamed Horseradish
Cucumber and Sprouts
Turkey with Cranberry Aioli
Curried Deviled Egg with Chives
Shrimp with Dilled Cream Cheese
Beet Tartar on Goat Cheese Rounds
Strawbetty and Clotted Cream
Lemon Cream Scones with Cranberries
Gingerbread with Grand Marnier Filling
This Tea will feature one Hot tea and two Flavored Iced Teas
Following the tea you can tour the many gardens of this 7 1/2 acre property. If you wish a garden tour of the property, I can arrange for a tour guide or you may do it on at your leisure. I do request your preference if you want a guided garden tour or not.
The cost of this tea including the tea, tour, tax, tip is $40.00. This venue is requesting a substantial up front deposit, so you must pay when you make your reservation or I can not accept your RSVP. Pay via Paypal at www.paypal.com to email@example.com. We need a minimum of 20 people for this private tour and tea. Refunds will be offered up to 7 days prior to the event as long as we have 20 people attending.
The house tour is inside, but the tea is outdoors in the shaded garden under a canopy, so please wear flat shoes and dress for August. Most of the gardens offer shaded areas. The tea will be concluded no later than 1:30, staying for the garden tour is your choice.
