Hike particulars for Thursday October 13.

Hey All,

Sorry if some of you didn't receive the cancellation email yesterday for the pre hike meeting at REI today. With the storm I think the airwaves were dysfunctional?!?

Here is the scoop for our hike this coming Thursday October 13.

We will be leaving around 5:00AM, if anyone would like to carpool, now is the time to come forward and volunteer. Maybe pick a rallying place on your side of the water.

We will be meeting up in Daleville, VA @
Howard Johnson Inn
437 Roanoke Rd.
Where we will park our cars in their parking lot.

Here's the plan,
Arrive at Howard Johnson by 9:30AM ish and start the hike at the latest by 10:30AM.
Make camp 7.1 miles @ Curry Creek Camp Site, Water available at creek.

Please let us know if you would like to carpool, there are members on both sides of the water, maybe we can do some paring up. I have room for one more in my car if anyone wants to ride with me and my friend Jody. We're in Va. Beach.

I have inquired about water, and there seems to be NO PROBLEM with the situation in the area we are hiking. That is WONDERFUL considering most of the AT has been dangerously Dry.

If you are not carpooling or driving along with the group, (coming in separately maybe meeting up later in the evening), the campsite is 4 miles beyond Fullhard Knob Shelter.

I would appreciate if you would send me your contact information, Emergency contact and phone number and any medical information I need to be aware of while we are out on the trail. Just in case, you know.

I have a shuttle service reserved to pick us up at the terminus of our hike, the gentleman's name is Homer, he will have two cars available for us. Please have available $10.00 cash per person, to cover cost and tip.

My phone number is[masked]
My email is: [address removed]

Contact me with any questions you may have. See you Thursday.
