Shahir Masri, Environmental Health Scientist at UCI, will be our speaker.

Dr. Masri will discuss earth's paleoclimate in order to put our current climatic situation into proper context. He will also discuss current statistics on our energy situation in the United States. He will stress the importance of green energy and the collective effort of citizens to bring about climate action in Washington.

Shahir Masri is an assistant specialist in air pollution exposure assessment and epidemiology at UCI. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2009. In 2011, he received a Master of Science degree in environmental health from the Harvard School Public Health. Most recently, in 2016, he completed his Doctor of Science degree from the Exposure, Epidemiology and Risk Program in the Department of Environmental Health at Harvard. His work focuses on exposure assessment relating to ambient air pollution. He has given numerous talks on climate change and has been published in The Hill, Thrive Global, among other newspapers, as well as scientific journals
