What we're about

First off -YOU ARE NOT ALONE. (If you are not a local, please read and see information below for another option)
What is OCPD? Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder is characterized by a preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and mental and interpersonal control, at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency. But if you do not even recognize the signs of OCPD(Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder also known as Anankastic Personality Disorder)you are one of millions who either suffer from this disorder or are caught in and subjected to its abuse.

You are here for 1 of several reasons:
1) You have been wondering why your loved one flies off the handle and takes even the smallest thing out of context acting like it is your fault.
2) You seem to have great business sense but when it comes to personal relationships, are lacking in interpersonal skills and/or want to control every situation by conceptualizing all angles before making a decision.
3) You are an individual searching for practical knowledge of Personality disorders.

Ask yourself the following and see which side you seem to belong:
1) Are you preoccupied with details, rules, lists, order, organization, or schedules to the extent that the major point of the activity is lost?
2) Are you a perfectionist or manipulate to achieve your goal?
3) Are you excessively devoted to work or productivity by excluding friendships or other out-of-office activities?
4) Do you seem to have and are inflexible in your values, loyalty or honor?
5) Are you blamed over and over for items that you feel are out of your control?
6) Does the smallest change you do seem to set off your partner or loved one?
7) Are you objected to financial or social control?
8) Are you not spoken to for hours or days on end after an argument with your partner/loved one?

If you see yourself in questions 1-4, you may have OCPD. If you relate with questions 5-8, you may find yourself having been bullied. It's pretty simple to discover which side of the spectrum you fall on the OCPD line but it is not easy to diagnose, discover, or treat.

Mostly diagnosed in their 40’s and 50’s, their world, is only black and white: A gray area does not exist and cannot exist for the OCPD individual.

Remember, they do not understand that they are abusing you and if you are here, searching this meetup, you too are realizing that there is and has been a problem for some time in your relationship. Don’t give up hope.

However, if it is an abusive relationship, as mentioned, or physical abuse or another type of abuse not mentioned, you should seek immediate help from a trusted adult, school teacher or counselor if you are a child and if you are an adult then JUST GET HELP.

For further information and resources please go to ocpdinfo.com .

OPTIONAL: If you are not in town but would like to discuss what OCPD is or perhaps, your challenges with a loved one, perhaps we can set up a Skype. I am not a doctor, therapist or in the medical field at all so there is no medical advice coming. However, maybe all you need is an ear to listen, because people just don't understand how bad it truly is for you. Email me through Meetup and, with any luck, I can bring hope where none exists. Looking forward to listening.(THIS IS NOT A HOOKUP OR A CHEAP OR KINKY WAY TO ENDEAVOR IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE ABOVE. DO NOT WASTE MY TIME IF THAT IS WHAT YOU THINK)
