DallasPHP and CodeWorks '09

I recevied this announcement for all you PHP developers...David

I am Co-Organizer of DallasPHP (Webmaster of and the DallasPHP Meetup site).
I have been contacted by the people behind the national php|tek conference to let me know that they have included Dallas in the plans for their traveling Roadshow, CodeWorks '09. The Dallas show will be held in Late September, user groups members are eligible for a discount, but more urgently, CodeWorks is holding one, possibly two speaking positions open for regional speakers.

DallasPHP is organizing a Call for Topics and we will determine a primary speaker as well as an alternate speaker by late July (two primary speakers if CodeWorks allows) . They do NOT have to be DallasPHP members, and must simply either reside or work in Texas/New Mexico/Oklahoma/Arkansas/Louisiana and be ready to speak about some aspect of PHP. Topics will be run past CodeWorks to minimize conflicts with national speakers.

We are having a planning meeting at our monthly presentation next Tuesday, the Call for Topics should come out within a few weeks. If any of your membership is interested, they can follow developments through the website, our mailing list (signup on and they are more than welcome to attend our meetings (free, on the second Tuesday of each month.)

I would appreciate it if you would spread the word about the conference and the Call for Topics, and feel free to contact me at [address removed] with questions.

Tim Stiles,
Co-Organizer of DallasPHP
