Fermentation is one of the most magical things in the world of food. It gives us beer, wine, sourdough bread, yogurt, pickles and more. It's nearly an alchemical process of turning simple things into amazing things.
You will be able to sample some delicious foods like homemade sauerkraut, pickled vegetables, and more.
You will get to create some food to take home to ferment.
You may also bring home some kombucha SCOBY if you're interested and possibly kefir grains if I can get them.
Topics will cover homemade yogurt, kefir, kombucha, homemade pickles and sauerkraut, and even homemade hard cider.
I'm trying to determine interest before setting a date but also, depending on what's coming into season, it may be worth pushing out the date since much of what we can do will depend on what's in season.
I will be providing supplies and recipes, so there is a fee for this Meetup of $20.
The class is limited to 8 (maybe 10) people but to gauge interest I'm leaving the RSVP's entirely open since there isn't even a date yet.
You will go home with recipes, 2 jars of your own creation and a kombucha SCOBY if you choose to have one. You will also get to sample whatever I can make available. I currently have dill pickles and 3 kinds of sauerkraut but when this is scheduled...who knows!
