ONA in conjunction with the Institute for Future Media and Journalism (FuJo (http://fujomedia.eu/)), will hold a review of the Irish General Election online coverage on Thursday March 3 in Dublin City University [DCU].
#GE16 was a truly digital campaign that saw traditional parties compete with new parties and traditional media collide with social platforms. So what are the takeaways?
• What stories and parties made an impact?
• Which media outlets and platforms sustained the most engagement?
• How did the party and media strategies play out and compare?
• And what does it all mean for future campaigns?
Our panelists on the night will include Mark Little, Vice-President of media for Europe and Africa with Twitter; Kevin Doyle, Group Political Editor of Independent News and Media (INM); Dr Eugenia Siapera Journalism Specialist at DCU FuJo; Mary Regan, Political Editor with UTV Ireland, Georgiana Ifrim, of the Insight News Group; and Liam Corcoran, Head of Communications with NewsWhip.
We also have two 2 day passes to give away to RTE's Mobile Journalism Conference in Dublin this April.
Please confirm your attendance asap as spaces are limited! The event takes place in DCU Glasnevin Campus: QG15 ground floor of the Business School. Doors open and networking starts at 6.30pm, the panel discussion starts at 7pm.
Tickets are €5.
