The annual OSU Makeathon is open for interested attendees, Makerspace stakeholders, and is especially looking for judges.
The Makeathon is a 24-hour hardware hackathon, featuring students attempting to brainstorm and innovate in a bunch of creative and wacky ways! You can see a description of the event from their website and Columbus Dispatch article covering last year's event:
New for this year will be exhibits that showcases fun/interesting maker activities at OSU, such as the Toy Adaption Program, RobotZoo, OSU STEP build exhibits, and others.
You can attend and just see the participants in action (the final Showcase starts at 2pm), or, if possible, help out by serving as a judge for the competition. Judges will meet from 11:30am – 1:30pm (lunch is included) in order to establish judging criteria, interview and see demos from maker teams, and then caucus to select maker awardees. During the caucus, we will also review the ongoing development of makerspaces at OSU; there are a number of exciting developments!
Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
• 3 Top Tier
• Technical Achievement
• Most Socially Responsible
• Artistic Form and Function
• Others being determined……
