Yet, in ten hurried days in May 1995, Brendan Eich created JavaScript, which is currently the most widely used programming language in the world. Originally appearing in Netscape Navigator 2, JavaScript slowly became the lingua franca of the web. How did that happen? What historical factors led to JavaScript's creation and success?
