What we're about

We're a local group of writers who write fiction - novels, flash, short stories - within a range of genres and reading level. Because of this, we don't critique poetry or non-fiction. We'd only be able to do a copy edit and that feels like short changing you. It's nigh impossible to crit what you don't read, write, and breathe.

Our members are serious about publication and are in various stages of it: writing, editing, querying, and already published (self-published and traditional markets). We aim to help everyone improve and share not just chapters for reviews but publishing advice in general.

Our process: We meet Sunday afternoons. Before midnight the Friday before, members submit pieces they want critiques on. These are to be read before Sunday meetings, so we can spend the time talking about submissions. Please keep in mind that it can take a few hours to read all the pieces submitted for the week. Make sure you have the time.

Submission process and limitations are on the forum/discussion board.

Meetup size: Due to time limits, we restrict the number of people who can attend each week. That number is 8. Similarly, to ensure members receive a worthwhile critique session, we also require 3 writers in attendance to make a quorum.

Bring paper or digital copies of the submissions you have already critiqued. We critique every submission each time we meet, and our end time might vary because of that. For more information about how to submit, check out the message board.
