Oak Park Brewing Company Trivia

Needs a location

Come to the Oak Park Brewing Co. and show off your trivia knowledge! Trivia starts at 8 and goes until 10, but I will try to arrive early to snag a table. This week’s trivia is miscellaneous. Not good at trivia? Come out anyway and be social!

HUSKIES (At Polar Adventure Days by the Chicago Park District)

Northerly Island - Museum Campus

There will be doggos. Come. Bring treats. Goes from Noon to 4PM. I (Feibi) am probably not going to get there until 1:30 PM. https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/events/polar-adventure-days

Captain Marvel

Lake Theatre: Classic Cinemas

The next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Brie Larson + Jude Law + Samuel L. Jackson, all being them-fiiiine-selves, kicking bootayyy and possibly taking names. Lake Theater is showing this on Fridays at 7 PM (and later at 9:45 PM). We can meet at one of the restaurants nearby on Lake Street beforehand for a casual dinner (~6 PM) and head over for the movie. I'd suggest reserving your ticket in advance to avoid a line at the box office! :)

North-Central Illinois Winery/Brewery/Camping Trip

Needs a location

2019 is set to be one of the hottest years/summers in recent records! Let's escape the Chicago metro-statistical heat island and get back to nature, locally-ish (...just like fancy East Coast folks do, a la the Hamptons)! Just ~1.5 hours outside our lovely 'burbs, the Illinois River Wine Trail runs through lovely (I think?) Utica, IL and surrounding areas. In my time living out in the Plains states, state-wide wine passports and winery visits were a relaxing summer staple and a great way to mingle with folks outside the traditional "big city" setting. #expandyourhorizons! Depending on group interest, we'll likely visit at least 2 wineries/vineyards (open 10a-8p) and/or breweries/tours (11a-midnight), among which include: - August Hill Winery - Illinois Sparkling Co. - Illinois River Winery - Tangled Roots Brewing Co. Tastings/flights generally run $5-15 per location per person. Some locations limited to 10 attendees per group/tasting. For nature-lovers, there's the option to extend this day trip into an overnight camping and morning hiking trip at nearby Starved Rock State Park. (Because who doesn't love lighting flammables on fire and eating meats in the wilderness?!) Please RSVP and stay tuned (~May-ish 2019)! I'm (Feibi) going to be leading 1 vanpool heading out from Oak Park/Forest Park ~9AM Saturday, and hoping for camping :) Those interested in camping should prepare their own camping gear/arrangements and may want to coordinate with me directly, ASAP, as campsites are booked FAST and long before the season begins!
