11th Annual Holiday Toy Drive

  • The Trappist

460 8th St, Oakland, CA (map)

  • I'll be inside to greet you.
  • As the year comes to an end and the holiday's are on our mind, it's a time of celebration and festivities and also remembering those who are less fortunate. Each Christmas, Oakland Happy Hour & Bay Area Beer Socials reach out to the children of Oakland with it's annual toy drive to benefit the Oakland Firefighters Random Acts program - by providing toys for disadvantaged kids of the area.

The Oakland Firefighters Random Acts is an in house non-profit organization staffed by firefighter volunteers. The organization distributes toys to families throughout the City of Oakland during the holidays. Toys are delivered by Oakland Fire Engines directly to the homes of the families.

Our friends at The Trappist are again sponsoring the event with a special offer. Bring a toy for a boy or girl (ages 16 and under), and get a token for a beer, (if you can’t make it at the times we’ve posted, please come at any time up until 3:00 PM.)

The Oakland Firefighters will be on hand with one of their trucks on display to meet with their friends at The Trappist. We'll have some appetizers and other goodies to go along with your beer.

Providing an underprivileged boy or girl a gift for the holidays is a wonderful gesture, and a great way to open the holiday season.

Transportation: Don't drive! The Trappist is just a few blocks from the City Center BART station. If you have to drive, there's street parking.

I hope to see you for this fun event

    Cheers,

    Cliff
