Lets take in the sights and sounds of nature as we kayak the loop at Silver Springs State Park. Wildlife sightings include fish, turtles, birds, gators, and sometimes even monkeys or manatee!
Go in through the Main Entrance of Silver Springs State Park off East Silver Springs Boulevard, and follow the signs to the kayak and canoe launch.
If you have your own kayak, there is a $4 launch fee, plus a $2 park admission fee.
Kayak rentals are available at the launch site. The websites says they have some clear bottom kayaks. You may want to reserve ahead of time. Google "Silver River State Park Kayak Rentals" or go to silversprings.com/paddle/
We will leave the launch site about 12:15p.m., paddle downstream on the Fort King Waterway, paddle upstream on the Silver River toward the headsprings, and end up back at the launch site.
Depending on your speed, it takes about an hour to kayak the loop.
Bring water, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
For your safety, you must be able to swim to attend this meetup.
