Tell us about yourself and your sea paddling experience including wet exit experience with a sea skirt.

I find ways to stay busy in the outdoors every season. You won't find me paddling in the winter because I hit the snow covered slopes that time of year, but I will paddle spring, summer and fall. I also enjoy rock climbing and hiking. I live west and work at Baldwin Wallace University

While we welcome beginner kayakers and want to encourage those seeking sea kayaking learning events and experiences are you OK with being being excluded from events (for safety) based on your beginner status?

Most of my paddling experience comes in the way of teaching. I do not have a lot of experience in rough waters, but I do have a lot of experience in self rescue techniques and safety as it pertains to being on the water in all kinds of conditions. I enjoy the inland lakes for teaching Level 1 and 2 paddling classes in SUP and kayaking, but I love Lake Erie for my personal fun days! I teach classes at Baldwin Wallace University. Our paddle program is made possible through a grant funded by the ODNR Boating Safety Division.

Describe your sea kayaking gear including whether you have access to a boat. Include PFD, spray skirt, wet suit and any other gear you will bring and use for outings.

Yes it is 12 feet long and has a spray skirt, but it is a recreational type of kayak.

Have you paddled on Lake Erie? If so, where and how far? There is no wrong answer to this question.

Yes, I have paddled the crib on SUP and kayak

Is your profile picture an identifiable head shot of YOU and ONLY you? If not, you will be declined.

I think so!

I love the outdoors and paddling. I am a certified Level 2 Kayak Instructor and Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor through the American Canoe Association (ACA). I really enjoy helping others understand the role of safety in paddle sports!
