Today is Pittsburgh's Day of Giving! If you believe in safe bikeways and trails, please make a contribution to show your support. Your gift to the Ohio River Trail Council on ( will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to the generosity of individual donors.

The Ohio River Trail Council seeks compassion and support to initiate a change in culture that fosters mutual respect among all people who share the road. The roadway design and speeds of PA Route 51 between Pittsburgh and Monaca are not compatible with a State bicycle route, with speeds often in excess of 65 mph and limited shoulders. Your donation directly contributes to making improvements to cycling infrastructure on Route 51 along the Ohio River where four cyclists have been killed by motorists in three years.

The Ohio River Trail Council (ORTC) is a non-profit volunteer-led corporation that works to promote and protect a continuous corridor of natural and cultural resources along the Ohio River and its tributaries. The ORTC's goal is to honor our past and build a "path" to our future by providing recreation opportunities, environmental stewardship, land conservation, heritage development, safe transportation networks, and economic stimulus to our region.

The ORTC donors play an integral role in the continued development and expansion of the Land and Water Trails, as well as our ability to serve southwestern Pennsylvania riverfront communities through advocacy and planning. Please help us to continue our work by becoming an affiliate and endorse our efforts by contributing to one of our projects (
