  • Virtual Game Design Workshop

    Online event

The idea is to find some creative freedom through on-the-fly collaboration. This will be similar to past Game Design Workshops, but this will be a virtual event using Google Meet (cameras strongly suggested, but not required). We'll be breaking into random teams using breakout rooms in Google Meet (no need to create one beforehand) and coming up with game ideas, mechanics, stories, etc. Each group will then present, and everyone will participate in spirited feedback discussions.

Our meetups are organized by GoldFire Studios (http://goldfirestudios.com) and Techlahoma (http://www.techlahoma.org). Login ready to talk game development! Also, there will be time at the end of the meeting to show off anything you've been working on lately via screen sharing.

PS: Don't forget that we also have a Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/okgamedevs/) that is great for sharing! Anyone is welcome to join.

  • Virtual Hangout

    Online event

In order to respect social distancing, our next OKGD meetup will be virtual! We are going to try out Mozilla Hubs, which allows us to all voice chat and show demos within a 3D environment. If you have a VR headset, you can even join the meetup in VR (but that isn't required and it works fine in a browser)!

Join the room at the below URL at the start of the meetup. If you've been working on something that you want to show off, you can share your screen and anyone that wants to see the demo can gather around. Otherwise, it'll be good to "see" everyone and talk some game development!

Each person/group will have 5-10 minutes to show off their work. You can also setup your game to do a play test at the end of the meeting (you can do this if you don't present as well, but hopefully you'll do both!).

  • Game Storytelling Workshop

    StarSpace 46

Similar to our popular game design workshops, the game storytelling workshop gives you the opportunity to team up, create a story and present it for feedback to the rest of the group. We'll be breaking into random teams (no need to create one beforehand) and brainstorming a storyline for a game (including characters, conflict, resolution, etc). Each group will then present on their game story, and everyone will participate in spirited feedback discussions.

  • Hangout @ Fassler Hall

    Fassler Hall

It is time for another hangout in Midtown OKC, once again at the popular Fassler Hall! These hangouts are all about connecting and having good conversation with others interested in game development (whether professionally or just as a hobby).

We don't have any room or tables reserved, so we'll try our best to find an open area to all sit together. If you can't find us, check this page or the Facebook Event (group here (https://www.facebook.com/groups/okgamedevs/)) where we'll try to update on general location.

If you've got anything to show off, such as something new you've been working on or anything interesting you've come across, be sure to bring a laptop, tablet, etc.

  • Play Test Day

    StarSpace 46

Play Test Day is a chance to not only see what everyone has been working on, but to also play the games and provide direct feedback. No presentations, just various local games setup on tables.

If you've got a game, whether it is completed or just in prototype stages, please signup to play test. You'll get valuable feedback and testing. Even if you don't have a game to present, we'd still love to see you here to play all of the awesome games created by fellow Oklahoma developers (tabletop games are welcome as well!).

    On the slate so far:

    * CasinoRPG (GoldFire Studios)
