Halloween Party at Malachi and Eve's

Come one come all to enjoy a good time at Eve and Malachi's house. We will be passing out candy to trick or treaters, playing halo, and scaring anyone who comes to the door. Please email Eve for Directions, and as always this is potluck, so please everyone bring something to eat, and maybe a bag of candy. Halloween decorations are appreciated too!

------------------------------
Okay, allow me to elaborate some, because I've been a bit confused about this myself.

We've offered up our home for Halloween because we live in a very kid-friendly neighborhood. Walking down the street it seems like every 5th house has plastic graveyards in the front and fake spiderwebs by the door (ours has *real* spiderwebs by the door.) I know many of you may not live in a great kid-scaring area, so you all are welcome to come scare the neighborhood kids. Last year my sister and I served hot chocolate as witches from the garage and there was a pretty steady stream.

That said:

- We have no decorations other than semi-misshapen state of our yard.

- We have no pumpkins. I'd like to get together with whomever's coming and carve pumpkins--maybe earlier on Sunday or Saturday??

- We have no candy either, but that's easy.

If the non-kid-scarers want to hang around and play halo or whatever, that's perfectly okay. I am going to veto any "scary" movies because I'm a wuss--sorry. - Eve

We just got some cookies, soda (Rootbeer and Cherry Coke) cups and plates, and a small meat and cheese platter thing, and some candy for kids. Sending you another email about the pumpkin thing, Eve.

So.. Malachi and I just went out and got some candy for the kids and a couple frozen pizzas if we're out of other food. We do not have anything in the way of drinks other than water. Safeway was out of pumpkins, so none of them either, though I may still try to find some tomorrow.

Yes, as we spoke about in email, you're more than welcome to come, Jenna.

Would it be okay if I brought the fam and visited? (It'd be me, hubby, and the two kiddos (10 and 8). If that's too many, or wouldn't work, no worries whatsoever! We wouldn't be able to stay long (cause of school tomorrow), but I wanted to ask first. We'd definitely bring goodies, too. Candy and adult Foods. (totally be up for the pumpkin carving thing, too.)

Oh yes. Unless I'm mistaken (I might be) Halloween/Trick-or-Treating generally starts AT/around 5pm. Y'all should probably arrive before that.

Please everyone bring something to eat to keep our potluck tradition going, and a bag of candy to hand out to kids.

@Eve - There is not much to it, we just discuss our ZA plan (not be be taken seriously, as Jason says, it's all in good fun). My last comment was more of a joke than anything else.

I would like to hear more about this before you guys decide anything. Aaron, either of those are okay with me though I think the number of beer drinkers in this group is limited.

Both scaring kids and halo have applicable elements to ZA preparedness. Such as stealth practice, and hand eye coordination.

Just what it sounds like are we prepared for the upcoming Zombie War? Devin will be heading up a group to prepare us for such an event...lol...all in good fun. I dont care if we do it here, but wont that get in the way of scaring childeren and playing halo?

I was thinking either some sort of cider or perhaps a growler of dunkelweisen. Not sure what others would enjoy.

I know a couple of us mentioned having a Harry Potter themed meal at some point. We could do that for this if people are interested.

What is this "zombie preparedness meetup" you speak of? Aaron, what did you have in mind?
