What we're about
This meetup group is designed for those interested in joining a strong and committed community of meditators that meet for meditation practice and discussion regularly. Our community is called the 'Honey Locust Sangha'. A Sangha is a Buddhist word to describe a community of practice for meditators. A sangha is seen as a important part of a meditative lifestyle. The Sangha helps us stay committed to our practice of living mindfully.
The Sangha meets at the Yoga Path, a yoga studio in central Omaha, on Monday nights. Throughout the year we also host retreats and days of mindfulness. We currently have an active book study and a women's practice circle which both meet monthly. The Sangha practices in the tradition of Buddhism, under the guidance of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Thich Nhat Hanh, or Thay as he is often called, is a beautiful example of this practice. He has published a variety of books and is looked to as a highly regarded buddhist teacher.
