Open House with Meditation and Dharma Talk

Open House at Open Sky Shambhala includes sitting and walking meditation, Shambhala dharma talks, tea, refreshments, and good conversation. You are welcome to participate in all or a portion of the session. Meditation instruction is available for those interested, no pre-registration is required. There is no cost; donations are always appreciated.

Tuesday Open House schedule:

• 5:45 pm – Arrival

• 6:00 – 7:00 pm – Sitting and Walking Meditation

• 6:00 – 6:30 pm – Meditation Instruction available

• 7:00 – 7:45 pm – Open House Talk on Shambhala Buddhist Teachings

• 7:45 – 8:15 pm – Tea, snacks and social time

Can't sit on a cushion? You're not the only one. We provide chairs in the shrine room as well as different types of cushions and benches so you can find what works for your body. The Buddha himself realized that physical discomfort is not conducive to meditation.

Parking: On evenings and weekends there is free parking in the Strata Forestry lot. We are located in the Strata building and you use the outside stairs to enter our second-floor location.

Cost: Our center is entirely volunteer-run. There is no charge for the public sittings or meditation instruction, but donations to help us with our overhead are joyfully accepted.

Sorry I didn't make it this evening! Hope to next week. I've been to a few with Shambhala Buddhism meditations in Kansas City, where I'm from. New to Eugene. Hope to come to an gathering soon! :)
