The OpenStack community is running worldwide bug smash days during the week of March 7-11, 2016. The New York City event will be held at Pace University (Seidenberg School of CSIS) over the course of three days, from March 7-9th.
The event will bring together experienced OpenStack committers and community members along with students and others that are new to OpenStack or want to learn more.
Beyond hacking on individual features and fixing bugs, we plan to have ad hoc OpenStack presentations from experts. We will also collaborate remotely with the events in the Bay Area, Austin, London, India, Ireland, Russia, and Australia.
Refreshments will be served, sponsored by IBM and Pace University.
The agenda is evolving, and we will always have the latest information at https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/OpenStack-Bug-Smash-Mitaka-NewYorkCity
If you are an experienced OpenStack or Python developer, please let us know if you'd like to serve as a mentor or presenter in the comments below.
If you would like to get an event attendee t-shirt, please RSVP by Thursday February 25th and add your US t-shirt size details at http://goo.gl/forms/BIY47egDdO
NOTE: For timely delivery of the t-shirts to the event, we had to close the poll early. We do have some extras; so if you would like to reserve the event t-shirt please leave us a comment on this page or if you prefer send Nikhil a private message. We will try our best to accommodate your requirement.
==== Upstream announcement below ====
How can you help make the OpenStack Mitaka release stable and bug-free while having fun with your peers? Join IBM and others in a global bug smash across four continents to squash bugs.
Later join us in April in Austin, Texas U.S.A. at the OpenStack Summit to get re-acquainted & celebrate our accomplishments!
To collaborate round-the-clock, around the world, to fix as many bugs as possible across a wide range of OpenStack projects. In the process, we shall also help onboard and grow new OpenStack developers, and increase our collective knowledge of OpenStack tools and processes.
To ease collaboration among all of the participants and ensure timely reviews by project cores, we shall use project IRCs, the mailing list, and the Gerritt review system. We shall have core reviewers on site or remote to help with code review to fast path fixes.
Come make the Mitaka release a grand success through your contributions, and ease the journey for newcomers!
