Needs a location
Come help get Cherokee Street on OpenStreetMap. We are going to meet at multiple locations along Cherokee Street to teach people how to contribute to OpenStreetMap, the most comprehensive world-wide crowd-sourced map.
Please register for the event on eventbrite! (http://editathonstl.eventbrite.com/) We will use eventbrite to keep track of expected attendance for each tutorial.
At Nebula Coworking (http://nebulastl.com/) (3407 S Jefferson Ave), we will meet as a group to edit OpenStreetMap online using the iD editor. An introduction to OpenStreetMap will take place at 12:00 and 2:00 - no experience required!
At Fort Gondo Compound for the Arts (http://www.fortgondo.com/) (3151 Cherokee St) we will hand out paper Field Papers (http://fieldpapers.org/) maps so that participants can explore the neighborhood and mark up maps by hand (to be digitized at Nebula Coworking the same day). An introduction to OpenStreetMap and a presentation on how to edit using Field Papers will take place at 12:00 and 2:00.
You can pick one location or visit both spots. Start at one and walk to the other, mapping things along the way!
Following the event, we will host a Mappy Hour at Foam (http://foamstl.com) (3359 S Jefferson Ave) at 4pm.
More details on the nationwide event are available at OSM.us (http://openstreetmap.us/2013/08/october-fall-editathon/).
