Our next meetup is at the Elastic (https://www.elastic.co/) office in Sydney. And it's going to be epic.

This time, we've got two actionable talks on technical topics. And we're fortunate to be hearing from Elastic experts: Mark Walkom, who is active and well known in the community, and Suyog Rao, the Logstash team lead (who happens to be in town from the US).

Come along and learn how to collect operational data from various system and application endpoints, then get it into Elasticsearch for analysis.

Even if you're not technical or don't use the Elastic stack, you will learn about foundational concepts: collecting data, parsing it, transforming it, and transporting it.

Ingest All the Things, Part 1: Collecting Data Using Beats

Learn how to collect operational data from various system and application endpoints using Beats.

Beats is the platform for building lightweight, open source data shippers for many types of operational data you want to enrich with Logstash, search and analyse in Elasticsearch, and visualise in Kibana. Whether you’re interested in log files, infrastructure metrics, network packets, or any other type of data, Beats serves as the foundation for keeping a beat on your data.
