Welcome to our Joint General Meeting/Adobe Creative Suite User Group!
Our monthly general interest meetings include educational presentations and networking, focused on current developments in multimedia, web technology, and the digital arts. Now, OCMMA's new Adobe Creative Suite User Group - Orange County (CS-OC) will meet jointly with the General Meeting of OCMMA every third Tuesday of the month.
The goal of this group is to continue to provide local designers and developers with a forum for learning from speakers and from each other about how best to leverage the power of Adobe applications in their business workflows. Meetings will continue to feature presentations by Adobe specialists, business entrepreneurs, camera and hardware pro's, and others. Topics are selected to have broad appeal across the various multimedia disciplines. Cynthia Gordon is the Manager of CS-OC.
In addition, every month we'll dive into some aspect of the Adobe Creative Suite, with a special focus on ways to streamline your workflow and jump back and forth among apps to get your work done. We'll have a special segment at each meeting called: "Creative Suite Treats", where a 5 to 10 minute demo will highlight a particular tool or technique in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, etc.
Come at 6 PM for networking and food and soft drinks. The fee for OCMMA non-members is $15, or $7 for students with ID.

Member Showcase: Art Kirsch
Tonight’s member showcase will highlight Art Kirsch. After a career as a high tech executive in the computer graphics industry and the Internet implosion during 1999-2001 Art will review his transition during this past decade to become a producer of events, shorts, commercials and an unabashed supporter of the entertainment arts industry in Orange County. Art will present photos and video clips from some of his projects including:
20th Anniversary Reunion of the cast and crew of A Christmas Story
Clips from the pilot episodes of In The Credits
West Coast Premiere of El Crimen Perfecto
Formation and purpose of OCShowbiz
Formation of Day Job Productions (sandlot filmmaking)
Behind the scenes of the production of Remembrance shot at Tustin MCAS
Time permitting, Art will share his thoughts on the future of the entertainment arts in Orange County and the surrounding counties.
Art has over 25 years of leadership experience. He has successfully fulfilled company assignments as President, COO, CAO, CFO, and VP Sales & Marketing. Art has produced a growing number of entertainment projects, and he also makes commercials and often collaborates with a high-end web design firm, The Buddy Group.
Art made an unsuccessful bid to convert 68 acres of the former Marine Corps Air Station, Tustin into a teaching studio to support the film programs at the several community and four year colleges in Orange County. He also formed an all volunteer filmmaking group, Day Job Productions, the goal of which is to make shorts for which each person involved will receive a DVD with their name in the credits. A premiere of the first production, Remembrance, is scheduled for May 2010. Art is also a business consultant who helps companies build or re-build their businesses.
Art also served nine years as a publicly elected school board member in Merrick, New York and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of sergeant. He currently serves on the boards of the MAOC and MCAI-OC/LA.
