After Effects Abuser Group - Pushing Pixels Beyond . . .
2D Character to 3D Animation in After Effects,
Organizing A Complex DVD With Simple Navigation,
and Adobe Creative Cloud Software Raffle!2D Character to 3D Animation in After Effects
Don't want to learn a 3D program but still want the advantages and appeal of dimensionality? Come see the tricks to make it happen using a plugin you probably already have (After Effects CS5 and later) which vastly increases your 3D design options, allowing you to do more in After Effects without requiring a side trip into dedicated 3D software.
Terry Syndergaard will be showing FreeForm, a great tool for the look of advanced animation - and we're not talking moving boxes around the screen here, but real character animation - as in creating a seemingly-3D head that moves, has depth, but done from 2D Photoshop art. You will also see how to animate facial expressions and body movements with other tools within After Effects, giving all the higher end look without having to learn 3D modeling and animation.
Organizing A Complex DVD With Simple Navigation
Bonnie Erdrich, co-manager, will show the result of taking her video from pet project to DVD distribution with sophisticated yet simple navigation. Treating every part of the 50 Year High School Reunion as art, she had fun mixing comedic stories contrasted to the nostalgia of proms, with music of the day, blending that, with the precious last words from those who have since passed on.
Here is one of the many appreciative comments Bonnie received from her classmates:
"I haven't laughed and cried that much in years. What a blessing you have given all of us - I felt like I was right there with the rest of you. You did a fantastic job putting these DVDs together and I can never thank you enough."
Collaborative Efforts and Thanks:
Kudos to fellow OCMMA member and Web-Video Crossroads Manager, Mike McGready, who took Bonnie's content (25 chapters including documentary) and created the sophisticated yet simple navigation for this project.
Terry Syndergaard did much of the photo restoration as well as some visual effects and character animation.
You will be entertained as well as inspired by the highlights of this "Work of Art" DVD.
