Adobe MAX App Highlights
Adobe MAX this year was jam packed with exciting announcements, demos of great new software features, and presentations by some amazingly creative people. One of the biggest topics was the lineup of new apps for mobile devices. At our next meeting we'll take some time to explore some of these, in a hands-on way. Cynthia will be bringing her iPad and iPhone loaded with the latest apps. After a brief demo, you'll have a chance to check them out yourselves. Better yet, if you have an iPad and/or an iPhone, bring them with you! And prior to the meeting, take some time to download the new apps, all available through the Apple App Store and free for Creative Cloud subscribers.
Illustrator Line: use this app to draw straight lines, geometric shapes, perspective views, and more.
Illustrator Draw (used to be called Adobe Ideas): create beautiful drawings with customizable pen tools and multiple drawing layers.
Photoshop Sketch: sketch with a variety of drawing tools, including a pencil, an ink pen, two blending markers, and an eraser; use your own custom brushes that you created with Adobe Brush.
Photoshop Mix: edit your photos on the go, with a variety of non-destructive adjustments, applied through layers and masks; then export your photo composition to your desktop Photoshop CC through the Creative Cloud.
Lightroom Mobile: use this app to edit your photos in the field and then automatically sync your work with Lightroom 5 on your desktop.
Premiere Clip: edit video clips, add effects, and send them back to your desktop app through the Creative Cloud.
Brush: turn photos into brushes, save them to Creative Cloud, and use them for your Photoshop and Illustrator projects when you're back at your desk.
Shape: turn objects you find around you in the world into vector shapes, and open them in Illustrator to edit and use as you like.
Color (used to be called Adobe Kuler): just like with Kuler, you can capture combinations of colors anywhere you point your camera.
If time allows, we’ll also take a peek at the newly designed Creative Cloud software apps for Microsoft’s Surface Tablet. Yes, it’s true, Surface Tablets were given away to all MAX attendees!
OCMMA's Adobe Creative Cloud User Group - Orange County (CC-OC) meets jointly with the General Meeting of OCMMA every third Tuesday of the month. Admission is free for OCMMA members, the price for non-members is $15, and $7 for students with ID. Come at 6 PM for networking and food and soft drinks.
Our meetings feature presentations by Adobe specialists, business entrepreneurs, camera and hardware pro's, and others. Topics include trends in multimedia, demos of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and others, as well as discussions of best business practices for web technology and the digital arts. The goal of this group is to provide local designers and developers with a forum for learning from speakers and from each other about how best to leverage the power of Adobe applications in their business workflows. Cynthia Gordon is the Manager of CC-OC and Virginia Houts is the Co-Manager.
