--- Castle Rock Trail and Bluff Lake Reserve in Big Bear ---
Summertime means hiking in the high country forest of our local mountains, with the snow melted and the air clean and cool.
Join us on this moderate 8 mi R/T, 833 ft gain hike up an initially steep trail to an expansive meadow and lake above Big bear where we will explore the Bluff Lake ecological Reserve,
Dramatic views of Big bear lake from Castle Rock.
This is an on-leash dog friendly hike.
No beginners please, high altitude hike.
Bring min 2qts water, ten essentials, lunch/snacks, hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes
Trailhead parking is limited, carpooling highly recommended.
Optional dinner afterwards in at Big Bear Village.
Meet at 10:30am, at North OC Carpool Point, 2721 North Tustin Street, Orange,
or 12:15pm at the Castle Rock Trailhead (1W03), 38436 CA-18, Fawnskin, CA 92333.
If you wish to carpool from other than the North OC carpool point, email leader with your city to get on the carpool list emailed out a few days before the hike.
