Trade Like a Casino

In order to be a successful trader you must know have to trade with the odds in your favor. Casinos make money because they have the odds stacked in their favor and entice gamblers to put themselves at a disadvantage by making it fun and entertaining.

Learn some techniques and ideas from OC Traders Meetup founder Scott Hodson that can put the odds in your favor by understanding some simple yet powerful statistical nuances about markets that can help you achieve your trading goals. We will also be referring to the ideas found in the book "Trade Like a Casino" by Richard Weissman as well so if you want to read or preview the book ahead of time that would be helpful.

Some topics include

  1. Why casinos always win
  2. How you can emulate the advantages casinos have
  3. How to recognize specific strategies that make money now
    • Specific seasonal strategies
    • Greeks-based options strategies

Scott founded the OC Traders Meetup in January 2009 to meet other traders and learn from their experiences. He has been an individual investor and trader since 1994. His trading style tends to focus on highly mechanical and systematic trading methodologies enhanced with fundamental and seasonal factors that match his psychological profile and lifestyle.

    Hey Traders!

I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you. I hope some of you will feel comfortable sharing some of your thoughts on gaining a statistical advantage in the markets as well. We'll see you on the 29th!
