Be Inspired. Come Listen And Share Your Stories At The Original Writers.
“Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.” Virginia Woolf, A Room of One's Own ----------------------- Dear writers, How do you decide on what to write? Do you focus on just one idea and just work on that for years, or do you have lots of ideas, and bounce from one idea to another? And can you tell when something is working? When Shakespeare was writing Romeo and Juliet, was he thinking 'Oh, this is a humdinger. I bet they will be playing this for years to come' or was he just thinking 'What happens next....?' with ink on his fingers and smudges on his nose. Come along and share your experiences. As with the last meeting, the first part of the meeting is set aside for discussion and then we have some readings. I'm looking forward to seeing you. Rupert

What we're about

We meet first and third Tuesday of each month at the Battersea Arts Centre and welcome writers from all walks of life as the more varied these opinions, the richer the experience.

We have many members: poets, novelists, playwrights, scriptwriters, historians, philosophers. It is a rich mix and makes a lively evening.

Please do join us. Even if you are just starting out and are just interested in writing, but don't have anything to read, come along and experience the evening. As sometimes the best motivation to write is to hear how others got there before you. Do bring your work, from working on finished pieces of writing, brainstorming ideas, develop notes, even readings from favourite authors. You can try anything and learn everything.
