What robotics & maker related topics do you enjoy, and what would you like to make or build?

I am mostly interested in knowing what sort of parts or items people are thinking about using 3D printing to create.

Would you like to lead discussions? What topics would you like to discuss?

I recently presented "My life with a 3D Printer" to an ASME section and gave that same presentation to the club. A copy is posted on the club website in the files section of More.

Please suggest a few robotics & maker topics that you'd like to learn about (e.g., soldering, Arduinos, mobile robots, making crafts, etc.)

I have an Arduino but have not had the time to explore with it. I would like to use it to control my 3D printer cooling/fan system perhaps?

What other interests & hobbies do you have?

I like to ride my bicycle and enjoy travel. I live in Mt Dora so coming to monthly meetings in Orlando may be challenging.

Retired Mechanical Engineer with an Afinia 3D printer in my garage. See for more about me. I am listed on, can make ABS parts for discounted costs for club members, and can help you ensure your design will print ok.

What Jim S. is saying about this Meetup Group

Lots of good interaction. We seem to have more stuff to share than time to share it. I have posted the 3D printer presentation on the Club Meetup in pdf format. Anyone needing advise on 3D printing a part or designing to ensure printing success can contact me, no cost or obligation. Jim Stana
