What robotics & maker related topics do you enjoy, and what would you like to make or build?

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with 3D printing as well as mechanical design.

Would you like to lead discussions? What topics would you like to discuss?

I recently presented several times on aspects of 3D printing as well as basic mechanical design for those into robotics. Most of the content is in the files section of this Meetup.

Please suggest a few robotics & maker topics that you'd like to learn about (e.g., soldering, Arduinos, mobile robots, making crafts, etc.)

I have used an Arduino to watch for 3D print filament jams and the club enabled me to learn how to use the Arduino as well as collaborate on solutions. I am looking to do something similar with printer flex failures. I am proposing a topic to update ORMaC mascot robot for Maker Faire

What other interests & hobbies do you have?

I like to ride my bicycle and enjoy travel. I live in Mt Dora so coming to monthly meetings in Orlando may be challenging.

Introduction

Retired Mechanical Engineer with an Afinia 3D printer in my garage. See JMS3DPrinting.com for more about me. I am listed on Makexyz.com, can make ABS parts for discounted costs for club members, and can help you ensure your design will print ok.

What Jim S. is saying about this Meetup Group

Lots of good interaction. We seem to have more stuff to share than time to share it. I have posted the 3D printer presentation on the Club Meetup in pdf format. Anyone needing advise on 3D printing a part or designing to ensure printing success can contact me, no cost or obligation. Jim Stana
