Any use for remote devs in Atlanta?

Hi Orlando Rubyists,

My gSchool developer training class is wrapping up this week out in Denver. We have two students that are headed back to Atlanta, but I'm having a hell of a time finding them good jobs there. In brainstorming ideas, I thought that some of you might have clients up there. Maybe there'd be an advantage in having one person on site. Or maybe the idea of having a remote person just a short drive/fly away is interesting?

They're both strong junior developers and good people to work with. Check out their portfolios here:

John Maddux: http://people.jumpsta...
Geoff Schorkopf: http://people.jumpsta...

If you're hiring but you're not interested in junior devs, please consider digging into their code and/or giving them a technical interview. While there's no substitute for experience, they've build some pretty intense apps here providing APIs, building a services architecture with async messaging, working with JS-heavy front-ends, etc. I think they'll impress you.

If you have any questions, feel free to ping me at or reach out to them directly (resumes and emails on the left side of the portfolio pages).
