RE: [orlandophp] Sr. PHP Developer needed in Orlando, Fl

I joined the group not because I needed work but because I wanted to be around people that was like minded and that I can learn from.  I don’t see me learning from someone that wants to hire for another firm and collect a commission.  I am not saying the recruiters should be banned but they should have their own area to post.  I understand the need for recruiters for those that are looking to get a full time job.  I run a graphic design and printing firm.  I learned PHP to create a way to allow people to take their graphics and send them directly to my press equipment.  That seems so long time ago.  Now I want to get better at it for some projects that I have had on the back burner for years.  I am hoping this group is where I can learn from others that are better than myself in the field of streamline code, increasing speed, and allowing extreme number of users.  I hope this feedback help the owner in making good decisions on how to move the group forward.

Hi everybody,

I'm really surprised by all the negative feedback everyone's putting into the mailing list. While I understand how annoying it is to have an e-mail flooded with people complaining, it's a good opportunity for David to get feedback from the community so he can figure out the best way to moderate recruitment techniques in the list. There have been some good ideas put forward, and I'm surprised by all the attempts to squash the conversation.

One of the benefits of the mailing list is the opportunity for group members to communicate with the rest of the community about whatever topic they feel is important. We aren't all going to be interested in whatever topic is being discussed, but that doesn't mean that we should exclude everyone from having a conversation if that's what they want to do.

That's probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but there you have it. I hope everyone's having a good Friday. Weekend starts in a couple hours!

New Rule: If you don't like the recruiters email them personally. Don't pollute the mailing list with your complaints.

How dare you put that code all on the same line.. It's like we're all animals on this list. ANIMALS!

Everyone, chill out. Enjoy the weekend. ;)
