What we're about
If you're interested in blockchain, cryptocurrencies & -assets and you even own some, you might have heard about the buzzwords proof of work, proof of stake, byzantine fault tolerance, 51% attack, nothing-at-stake problem... but how many of us have looked under the hood of Bitcoin, Ethereum and the others?
Most of the time we hear about Bitcoin's proof of work but there are a bunch of consensus algorithms that different blockchains and distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) use today. In this meetup we will look under the hood of Bitcoin's proof-of-work as well as some of the most important blockchain protocols out there to understand how a distributed system can maintain a consistent state, resilient to failures while keeping it easy to replicate.
Join us at the Kasbah Hub where the guys from Credits, a blockchain based on proprietary technology from Singapore will introduce us to their hybrid consensus protocol (dPoW + mBFT).
Free entrance. Remember you can buy drinks and food during the whole event, even with bitcoin ;)
