Liam & Taulant from JackPine.Co Will Present New Designing Concepts !

Hi everyone,

As Osamu mentioned in April, The CodeFactory was no longer available to us as our meeting venue. With this turn of event, we have been seeking new venues. We found several options including meeting rooms in the public libraries around the town, restaurants in downtown. We're also pleased that all the public venues are wheelchair accessible, that really matters to us. We will start charging for our meetings in order to cover the rental fee for the room - $5 per person. But with any excess money, we will be donating to charity organizations in Ottawa.
You can RSVP for FREE too
Due to having some difficulty with securing a venue in the end May, we moved our May meeting to Wednesday, June 12th. Details are below:

Date: Wednesday, June 12th starting at 6:30pm
Location: St. Laurent library,
515 Côté
Ottawa K1K 0Z8

"Jackpine Founder and Creative Director, Liam Mooney, along with Jackpine’s Lead Designer, Taulant Sulko, will take you on a magic digital carpet ride. They'll be sharing and featuring the freshest, illest and most exciting emergent design on the Internet. Liam and Taulant will take you on a digital odyssey to help vaporize notions of conventional, boring and mundane Internet. They'll introduce cool and interesting new technologies and share the future of Internet, as they see it.

Your pocket computer (phone), the computing device you use at home and on the road are capable of more than ever. That means, simply put, designers, developers and marketers have a whole new web to work with. The future is exciting. Join us on the 12th of June for a sneak peek.
This is the video "

I look forward to seeing you then. In a meanwhile, if you have questions please feel free to contact me

The meetup was great, I am looking forward to attending again. The location is a bit far (I bus it from Nepean), but otherwise good.

You may want to look into contacting the University of Ottawa or Cerleton. They do make rooms available to various events for free on occasion, so there might be some potential in that.

Hi, I'm also a model railroader, and we meet monthly in a church hall. Yes, they too charge a rental fee, but it should give us lots of options, including, if the right church is selected, free parking and proper facilities (e.g., a large room with a screen and perhaps even a projector). Our group has, for example, often met at Emmanuel United, on Smyth, which is also not bad to access by bus. And I'm not a United Church member, yet this is no problem. Note that I also used to go to the Spanish language meetup group, which meets at Bridgehead restaurants. This proved to me how poor restaurants are for this type of gathering! So I wish you good luck, and I'll attend if at all possible.
